Christmas Comes to Town at Cebu City Marriott Hotel

Christmas at Cebu Marriott

You know that Christmas is just around the corner when establishments start decorating and lighting up their Christmas trees! Cebu City Marriot Hotel is no exception. Not that we’re complaining, mind you, because we love seeing beautifully decorated Christmas trees all lit up in its splendor and glory!

Cebu City Marriot Hotel kicked off their Christmas festivities with the Christmas tree lighting event last November 17. As the tree came to life with its beautiful colors, a shower of colorful confetti followed! I’d like to believe that this small gesture by Marriott could have made even the most tired and stressed person experience a little of the holiday cheer that’s highly infectious!

Christmas at Cebu Marriott

The grand hotel chain stays true to its tradition of staging a grand tree lighting ceremony every year. This time, guests are welcomed into the hotel lobby with a view of their 6-meter gigantic Christmas tree adorned by a life-sized Gingerbread Train. It currently towers over the hotel’s lobby area where guests can take a selfie with the tree and win prizes!

The lighting ceremony was officially opened by Cebu City Marriott Hotel General Manager Patrick Carroll and followed by a series of Christmas song performances from the choir.

Let’s head to Cebu City Marriott Hotel for a wonderful staycation! Don’t forget to visit the Christmas tree and take a couple of snaps while you’re at it. Remember, you could win prizes just by taking a selfie with the tree until December 23! ♥

It’s a Golden Christmas at Golden Prince Hotel

It’s official, folks — the GOLDEN Christmas season is finally here at Golden Prince Hotel & Suites as the Christmas tree has been lit!

Prior to the grand lighting of the great Christmas tree in the hotel lobby last November 18, classic Christmas performances were given by the hotel’s resident harpist and the children from Angels of Hope Foundation. Guests were able to have a taste of Christmas with their wide selection of tasty cocktail dishes.

The lighting ceremony was led by the hotel’s President and CEO Benedict Que, VP for Corporate Communications Aaron Que, and VP for Operations Suresh Pillay.

After the beautiful Christmas tree came to life with its colorful lights, the festivities continued at Bulawan Küche where delightful Modern European treats were served by Bulawan’s resident chef, Jimmy Durano.

Golden Prince Hotel & Suites is not only known for their grand hospitality. They’re also known for being very generous as they gave away gift certificates, surprise boxes and a basket of goodies from Q Café and Bulawan to those present at this memorable event!

Truly, Golden Prince Hotel & Suites goes over and beyond expectations so that their guests may truly experience a Unique Cebuano Royalty Experience that is unparalleled and unique only to them.

Go on, gather the family, and experience the GOLDEN hospitality this Christmas only at Golden Prince Hotel & Suites! ♥

Wedoshop: Your One-Stop Shop for All Things Cute

If you’re like me, who squees at anything and everything cute and cannot resist purchasing even just one single teeny weeny cute item that you will probably never use, then perhaps a visit to Wedoshop will be both heaven and hell for you.

Heaven because Wedoshop is filled with shelves of cute merchandise that you can’t find elsewhere, and hell because you’ll be constantly fighting an inner battle with yourself over whether or not you need that new character mug or yet another box of facemask sheets.

But let’s move on, folks — for now, let’s explore Wedoshop through these photos and see what makes this humble shop differ from the rest of the shops that sell novelty items and other lifestyle goods. First up, a little preview of the store!

TheSocialJeep.com was invited to a VIP & bloggers sneak peek during Wedoshop‘s soft opening today, November 17, at Talamban Times Square, Cebu City. Upon arriving at the shop, I took in the beautiful view of a thoughtfully and systematically-arranged shelving and product layout. Mind you, nothing makes a curious shopper happier when they realize that the goods are arranged to ensure a seamless transition and stress-free browsing experience.

For instance, after you browse through the various mugs and bottles on display at Wedoshop, you immediately transition to pillows and children’s toys — as if the store was arranged with the feelings of mothers and homemakers in mind!

Wedoshop is not just your typical novelty item store. Coming from the same company that brought 2358 Exquisite Enterprises, Inc., a fast fashion designer brand from South Korea, to the Philippines, Wedoshop is a one-stop creative lifestyle shop focusing on the current market trends prevailing particularly in East Asia. Wedoshop currently has eight branches in the Philippines, seven of which are located in Metro Manila. That’s right, folks, the Wedoshop branch in Talamban Times Square is the first ever Wedoshop branch outside Metro Manila and the first in the VisMin region!

The shop is highly popular among shoppers aged 15 to 35, and rightly so, because their products are always in tune with the latest trends and are truly affordable! Light on the pocket yet of high quality and fashionably stylish and cute — that’s what Wedoshop’s products are. With prices ranging from as low as Php50 to as high as P500, it’s a good destination for holiday gift shopping or last-minute birthday surprises.

So whether you’re heading to the store to purchase home decor items or to find beauty items to give as gifts to your friends, we’re mighty sure you’ll find something of your liking at Wedoshop. Personally, I wanted one of these mugs. This is a mug with a cover and a built-in teaspoon! You’ll never need to grab a separate teaspoon to whip up a mean mug of instant coffee.

What’s Cookin’ at UP Cookout 2016?

UP COOKOUT 2016 Highlights

The annual UP Cebu Cookout happened last November 11th at UP Cebu, and it was a total circus – a complete circus of fun, music, food, and “real talk”.

It was not just about bands playing music all night long. It’s something deeper than that. The event’s cause for this year was to urge the millennials to go beyond the walls of cyberspace.

This year’s theme also takes a stand against historical revisionism and the need to be responsible for every letter we type, for every tweet we send and every comment we post.

Home-grown creatives and talents were showcased in different segments of the event. The segments are the following: Bandahan“Masquerade”, Sayawan“Feast of Fools”, Kantahan“Carnival Calls” and Rampahan “The Prestige”.

The Castle of Magic Comes to Life at SM City Consolacion

Toy Soldier and Ballerina

A curious crowd, filled with both young and old people, gathered at the Event Center of SM City Consolacion last Sunday, November 6th. Little did they know that they were in for a spectacular treat as SM City Consolacion launched the Castle of Magic, a 15 foot tall structure right at the heart of the mall with their yearly Treelighting Ceremony. The ceremony was given a fairytale flair with the story of the Toy Soldier and his beloved Ballerina, inspired by The Nutcracker, much to the delight of both the children and the adults. Everyone watched in rapt attention as the cast danced their way onto the stage and into everyone’s hearts.

Castle of Magic

Standing at about 15 feet tall and 18 feet wide, the Castle of Magic was constructed within 2 months, a symbol of the warmth of the holiday spirit.

The ceremony started with opening remarks from Ms. Estrella I. Wamilda,  Assistant Mall Manager, about the magic of Christmas and the act of giving, of bringing joy to both the recipient and to ourselves. The magic then began with the telling of the story of the Toy Soldier, how he and his ballerina became one with the power of love with a heartfelt pas de deux.

The simple ceremony was concluded with the entire ensemble of ballerinas and toy soldiers dancing to the beat of Christmas carols, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces as the ceremonial Christmas tree atop the castle is lit up with an incredible light show to signify the start of the holiday season at SM City Consolacion.

Afterward, a photo opportunity was held with the Mall management, Marketing and PR Departments along with Councilor Joyjoy Alegado of the Consolacion Municipal Government, the event organizers and various media partners.

For only Php200, you get two teddy bears; one you get to keep and the other you can donate to a child through SM Consolacion’s chosen beneficiary, Nangka Daycare Center.

“The Christmas celebration wouldn’t be complete without sharing the love this holiday. Let us continue to support SM Bears of Joy to make more children happy this Christmas,” explained Wamilda.
