Remember the 5th of November

If you have been following the #AlDub phenomenon, chances are, you already know that Yaya Dub’s Twitter got hijacked for a couple of hours by Anonymous Philippines.

What or who is/are Anonymous, really? Anon, as they are nicknamed, are hacktivists whose causes range from the promotion of free speech, unimpeded access to information, and transparency in government and corporate activities. The group has maintained that they did it for a cause.

So, who are the people behind Anonymous?

They are many and they are from all over the world. They go by the motto, “We are legion” and are fond of using the Guy Fawkes mask to brand themselves as part of the hacker group.

These masks were inspired by Alan Moore’s dystopian ‘V for Vendetta’, the 1988 graphic novel which is loosely based on the story of Guy Fawkes to protect their identity. Guy Fawkes is a member of the Gunpowder Plot, who was arrested while guarding explosives the plotters had placed beneath the House of Lords.

But these “kids” are not your average punks. The international collective of hackers had, over the years, done good for the world: taking down a white supremacist radio show host’s website, Project Chanology, exposing Chinese made cyber-attacks against the US, Operation DarkNet against child pornography, and Free Korea campaign urging Kim Jung On to resign. .

Our own PH based Anonymous group had achieved notoriety with their anti-China campaign against China’s occupation of Philippine territory.

Hackers are not all bad. But they can be, of course. Was Anon PH justified in hi jacking Maine’s account? Let’s hear it from these netizens:

Effective Ways In Telling Your Story

storytelling, content writing, content, writing

Storytelling or sharing your story to everyone is fun but the catch is you have to make it sound lively, not boring, and sensible and entertaining at the same time.

People nowadays can’t afford to waste their precious time in reading your dull story. Remember that storytelling is a powerful technique for you to build rapport with your clients. If you attract their attention, it means they trust you and they want your product.

So learn how to effectively get your story across with these few guidelines:

Start with a great lead

Remember that first impression lasts. Your lead is their first encounter with your company or brand. So if you want to attract customers, make it sure that your story lead is interesting and is delivered in a brief and concise manner.

Keep it simple

If you don’t want your story to be in the clutter, don’t make it sound complicated. Keep your stories simple and short as much as possible. Don’t add unnecessary words if you don’t want your potential and existing customers to miss the idea of your story.

Keep it clear

Tell your story clearly. Avoid using jargons and uneasy-to-understand words because you are not displaying your vocabulary acquisition, you are writing to effectively get your message across a wider audience.

Grab their emotions

Make a story that can attract the emotions of your viewers. They’ll love you if you have the same goal as theirs. Tell them what can do them good in listening to your stories and in trusting with your brand.

Create an aspiration

When you tell your stories, make sure you include your listeners in your story. Show them what you envision in the future. Aspire for a future with them. With that, they can connect to your story and aspires for a successful future with you.

End your story with a great impact

What people will remember is not how your story went but how it ended. Make an ending that will blow them, not just a sense of closing the story. You might as well give a reason why they must need you in their business.

With these tips, you will be able to grab clients and customers to partner with you.

There are no certain rules of telling a story, you just have to speak the words and make others hear and listen to you.
